Bridging the Health Divide: Political Courage to Invest
August 3rd & 4th, 2026
Manila Marriott Hotel, The Philippines
about the summit
The UNITE Global Summit is UNITE – Parliamentarians Network for Global Health’s flagship event. It serves as a dynamic platform where parliamentarians and decision-makers engage with leading experts and organizations to address the most pressing global health challenges and to shape the political agendas for the year(s) to come.
Under the topic “Bridging the Health Divide: Political Courage to Invest”, parliamentarians were called to confront one of the defining challenges of these fracturing times — the widening gaps in health equity and access.
As the world faces intersecting crises that test the resilience of health systems and the sustainability of public financing, political leadership becomes the most decisive investment of all.
collaboration with the IDRC
As part of Canada’s foreign affairs and development efforts, the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) champions and funds research and innovation within and alongside developing regions to drive global change.
In 2026, the UNITE Global Summit and the IDRC partnered to drive the development of evidence-based, high-impact legislation that reflects the latest scientific insights and global health priorities.
UNITE and the IDRC intend to equip parliamentarians with the essential tools to commit to sustainable, inclusive, and transformative political action for health.
